Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Dragon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Deliung! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deliung doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragon circles away.
Dragon moves into range and clinches up with Deliung. Dragon prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dragon pulls guard successfully.
Dragon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Deliung. Deliung controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Deliung pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dragon is keeping the position for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mike Deliung. Dragon scores with a takedown into Deliung's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragon tries to free his leg and advance position but Deliung is retaining full guard. Deliung trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Dragon postures up and lands a big shot to Deliung's brow. Deliung lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dragon! Deliung content just to control the position here. Dragon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dragon is working hard here to advance position. Dragon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deliung on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deliung unloads with some shots from mount but Dragon bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deliung working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Dragon turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Deliung off and cradles Dragon's limp body as Deliung celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Mike Deliung!
