Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Haruki Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilson FIgueiredo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gilson FIgueiredo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Haruki Murakami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gilson FIgueiredo! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murakami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Murakami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Murakami throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. FIgueiredo wants to clinch. FIgueiredo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Murakami fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. FIgueiredo is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. I looks like FIgueiredo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. FIgueiredo wants to pass the guard but Murakami is keeping the position. FIgueiredo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. FIgueiredo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. FIgueiredo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. FIgueiredo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Murakami wants to stand and escape but instead FIgueiredo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. FIgueiredo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murakami swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Murakami looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gilson FIgueiredo dominated that round. That's time! Murakami's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
FIgueiredo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Murakami is fending him off so far but FIgueiredo persists. Nope, Murakami circles away and we're back to standing. Murakami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Murakami tries to clinch and FIgueiredo counters with a takedown into side control. FIgueiredo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no FIgueiredo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Murakami sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. FIgueiredo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. FIgueiredo stands up from half guard. Haruki Murakami is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. FIgueiredo is breathing heavily. FIgueiredo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. FIgueiredo showed some decent athleticism there. FIgueiredo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Murakami tries to kick FIgueiredo off but FIgueiredo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. FIgueiredo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gilson FIgueiredo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Murakami feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to FIgueiredo's calf. Murakami misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Murakami tries to clinch but fails miserably and FIgueiredo counters with a shoot takedown. Murakami fights it but they end up in guard. Gilson FIgueiredo has got the better of the ground game so far. FIgueiredo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Murakami wants to stand and escape but FIgueiredo is having none of it. FIgueiredo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. FIgueiredo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. FIgueiredo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Murakami is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. FIgueiredo is looking to stand up but Murakami won't let him. FIgueiredo pushing down on Murakami's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. FIgueiredo stands up and beckons Murakami to join him on the feet. Murakami lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. FIgueiredo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murakami as he jumps to the side. Murakami misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from FIgueiredo.
FIgueiredo shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Murakami is on queer street and FIgueiredo is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
