Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corleone digs a good body shot into Pettis's ribs.

Corleone does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Pettis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Corleone connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pettis scrambles back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Corleone throws a low kick, looking for Pettis's leg but Pettis calmly moves out of range.

Pettis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pettis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Corleone but Corleone pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Corleone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
