Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brando Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rukawa medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). medina has chosen voices as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as rukawa medina enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
medina misses with a few strikes there.
medina throws a quick inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from medina is defended easily by Vera.
medina closes the distance and clinches up with Vera, looking for a takedown. medina pushes Vera against the cage but Vera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
medina thows a body kick. Vera tries to catch it but that hurt him.
medina tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten medina somewhat.
Brando Vera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of rukawa medina.
medina shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vera but Vera pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

medina looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vera is fending him off so far but medina persists. Nope, Vera circles away and we're back to standing.
medina shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vera pinned against the cage. Vera gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Vera feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to medina's calf.

Vera scores with a head kick. medina tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

medina looking to sit in guard and control but Vera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vera gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Vera misses with a series of wild punches.

Vera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Vera drops back looking for a leg! medina is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and medina manages to kick Vera off! Vera jumps back into medina's guard.

Vera has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of medina is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

medina wriggles free and stands up.
medina looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Vera throws a sloppy head kick and medina moves out of range easily.
A nice combination there by medina.
No luck for medina with that takedown attempt.

medina tries to keep at a distance but Vera has taken the fight into the clinch.

rukawa medina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

medina gets tackled into the cage by Vera. Vera maintains the clinch.
Vera prevents the takedown attempt.

Vera is trying to trip medina. He has hold of a leg but medina is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vera persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Vera is going oldschool here, as he tries to force medina to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so medina shrugs it off.
