Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vic Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwyane Wade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone's entrance music is Old Man by Redlight King. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vic Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dwyane Wade!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone misses with a hook

and Wade counters with a single leg into guard. Stone didn't expect that.

Wade drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stone dives on top into guard.
Stone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stone is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stone wants to stand but Wade is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vic Stone wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Stone tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stone rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Wade counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
It looks like Wade is going to stand back up.
Stone is doing well to control the position and prevent Wade from advancing to side control.
Stone is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wade not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Wade is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stone defends it well.
Wade is keen to just control but Stone is a slippery customer.
Stone is positioning himself well to prevent Wade advancing to mount.
Stone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dwyane Wade dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Stone lands with a straight right. Wade didn't see that one coming.
Stone throws a lazy uppercut

so Wade counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wade throws and elbow that misses. Stone uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wade's guard. Nice move by Stone!
Stone is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stone gets to his feet. Wade looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Stone misses with a right hand

and Wade counters with a single leg into guard. Stone didn't expect that.
Wade passes Stone's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Stone regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wade.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stone holds on and takes a little breather.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wade trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dwyane Wade has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stone working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wade.
Stone trying to control the position here.
Wade wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving.
Wade preventing the sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stone keeping full guard, as Wade tries to pass.
Wade stands and throws Stone's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wade goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Stone has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wade but great work by Stone.
Wade gets back to half guard.
Wade is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wade wants to get back to full guard but Stone has mounted him!
Wade is trying desperately to improve position.
Wade sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dwyane Wade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Stone misses with a left hand

and Wade counters with a takedown into side control.
Stone struggling a bit here.
Wade is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
An elbow from Wade crashes against the mat.

Wade is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stone knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wade is trying to ground and pound but Stone uses the momentary lack of control by Wade to regain half guard.

Stone tries to roll over but Wade keeps him under control.
Stone keeping control of the position.

Wade is working for a kimura but Stone is defending it quite comfortably.

Stone gets back to full guard.
Wade content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Wade wants to pass the guard but Stone is keeping the position.

Wade drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stone dives on top into guard.
Stone sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wade looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
Stone slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wade trying to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dwyane Wade comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Wade winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
