Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Gibbons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Gibbons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Miles! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Gibbons enables Miles to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gibbons manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Miles wants to pass the guard but Gibbons is keeping the position. Miles landing some decent shots from guard. Miles postures up and lands a big shot to Gibbons's brow. Miles wants to control from the top but Gibbons keeps moving. Miles with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Gibbons keeping moving, preventing Miles from controlling successfully. Gibbons has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Miles off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Gibbons is breathing heavily. Gibbons slips a jab and a cross from Miles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Gibbons wants to improve his position but Miles is controlling well.
Miles landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Miles is looking to advance position but Gibbons won't allow it. Miles is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Miles is controlling the pace.
Miles stalling away here and it's allowed Gibbons to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbons utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Miles is working Gibbons over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Miles is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Miles sitting in guard here, content to control. Miles advances position into side control! Gibbons takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miles wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gibbons, who protects the arm well. Miles lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gibbons down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles working the body and head with strikes. Miles in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Gibbons is not content to let Miles control the position. Miles is chipping away with strikes.
Gibbons is trying to escape the position but Miles is controlling the position. Miles in side control lands a decent elbow. Miles in side control, just content to control the action for now. Miles working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miles lands some shots froms side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gibbons taking a bit of punishment here - Miles scoring with strikes. Miles is putting a hurting on Gibbons here, landing some big shots from side control. Miles cracks Gibbons with a big elbow. Gibbons takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miles working the ground and pound from side control. Miles is trying to get an arm triangle but Gibbons is defending well. Gibbons on the wrong end of some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Desmond Miles dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gibbons gets caught flat footed, as Miles shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Miles is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Miles content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Miles controlling from the top position. Miles postures up and lands a big shot to Gibbons's brow. Miles trying to control the position from guard on top but Gibbons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miles is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Miles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Miles is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gibbons's head. Miles trying to control but Gibbons is working from the bottom. Miles looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Miles has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Miles's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Miles with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Miles wants to control from the top but Gibbons keeps moving. Miles scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Desmond Miles has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miles stops Gibbons from standing up. Miles thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Miles throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Miles engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miles forces his way into half guard. Miles tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gibbons knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles scoring with strikes to the body and head. Miles passes the guard and advances to mount! Miles working the ground and pound effectively.
Miles landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Miles cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Miles fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Miles dominating with strikes here.
Gibbons is rocked! Miles drops a big elbow. That's hurt Gibbons! More shots from Miles and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
