The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
silva scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming silva to the mat! silva manages to get full guard.
Gracie drops back looking for a leg! silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and silva manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into silva's guard.
Gracie stands and throws silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.
silva is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie advances to full mount.
Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but silva manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, silva has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gracie has hold of silva's arm. He's looking for a kimura. silva seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! silva is real pain and he's forced to tap out! silva is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
