Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Eliot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Alexandre Diaz! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eliot shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Eliot showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Diaz.
Eliot misses with a kick to the body.
Diaz throws a head kick that misses. Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Eliot. Eliot breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Eliot scoring well with a low kick there.
Eliot misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Eliot shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Eliot. That's going to take a lot out of him. A right-left combo lands from Eliot. Diaz looks gassed! Eliot shoots in for a double leg but Diaz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Eliot throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range. Diaz lands with a nice combination. Eliot backs away looking to recover. Eliot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Diaz paws at him with a jab and circles away. Diaz checks the leg kick nicely there.
Eliot looks for a takedown but Diaz sprawls well. Diaz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Eliot scores with a spinning back kick! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Eliot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Diaz throws a head kick but Eliot moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Eliot or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad. Eliot moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Eliot swats him away and circles back towards the center. Diaz takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A right-left combo lands from Eliot.
Diaz is rocked! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diaz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Eliot has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Eliot and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Diaz is still on wobbly legs! Can Eliot finish him? Eliot lands an uppercut, right on the button! Diaz tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
