Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Luger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iokua Mikala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luger comes to the cage accompanied by Real American. This should be fireworks!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Iokua Mikala!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luger throws a big shot that misses.
A big left from Luger misses.
Mikala takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mikala moves out of range as Luger strikes.
Mikala throws a lazy uppercut

and Luger counters with a takedown into side control.
Mikala avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Luger.
Mikala is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mikala gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luger uses his free foot to push down on Mikala's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mikala.
Luger sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mikala wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mikala tries to roll but Luger sticks to his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I would not like to be Mikala right now.

Luger not allowing Mikala to control his hands.
Luger controlling the position well here. Mikala rolled but Luger kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Mikala looking very determined here, making life difficult for Luger.

We're going to have a standup here because Lex Luger wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Mikala scores with a leg kick.
Mikala throws a front kick aimed at Luger's knee but Luger avoids it well.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mikala tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Luger misses with a looping right.
A low kick from Mikala is predictable there
and Luger counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Luger blocks a head kick by Mikala.

Luger pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jab, jab by Mikala - just one landing.
Mikala's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Luger connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mikala scrambles back to his feet.
Mikala misses with a leg kick.
Luger tries for a takedown but Mikala circles away easily
enabling Mikala to counter with a crisp jab.
Luger swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Luger dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Luger misses with an uppercut
and Luger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mikala looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Luger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mikala regains half guard.

Mikala looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Luger pushes past his half guard into mount!
Mikala tries to lock up and control but Luger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Luger controlling his opponent.

Luger connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mikala is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mikala is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Luger looking to control and managing it successfully.
Mikala tries to lock up and control but Luger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Luger controlling from mount.
Luger prevents Mikala from getting the reversal.
Luger sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Luger trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Luger controlling his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mikala regains half guard.
Mikala is trying to get back to full guard.
Luger is looking to advance position but Mikala won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mikala wants to improve his position but Luger is controlling well.
Luger trying to mount his opponent but Mikala defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luger is trying to control. Mikala wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lex Luger just wasn't active enough.
Mikala throws a low kick but Luger avoids it.
A low kick from Mikala misses

and Luger counters with a takedown into side control.
Luger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mikala keeps working.
Luger staying calm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lex Luger dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Luger rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mikala counters with an outside leg kick.
Luger jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mikala connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Luger misses with a shot to the body
and Mikala counters with a nice low kick that buckles Luger's knee momentarily.
Mikala misses with a head kick.
Mikala throws a sloppy head kick
and Luger counters with a nice uppercut.
Luger cracks Mikala with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Iokua Mikala seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mikala throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Lex Luger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Luger throws a lazy right hand but Mikala sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mikala walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Luger checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mikala throws a shot from downtown. Luger moves away and avoids it.
Luger shoots in but Mikala avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Luger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mikala manages to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mikala thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Luger if he has to take too many more of those.
Mikala shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikala missing with a left hand there. Luger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mikala blocks a head kick by Luger.
Crunch! Mikala slams his shin into Luger's torso.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mikala throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mikala misses with a takedown attempt - Luger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Luger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mikala's waist but Mikala gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Luger off to one side.
Luger lands with an uppercut that bounces Mikala off the cage and back into rage.
Mikala fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lex Luger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iokua Mikala.
Mikala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Luger.
Luger lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Luger misses with a hook. Mikala ducked under it nicely.
Mikala scores with a jab to the head.
Mikala cracks the inside of Luger's front leg.
Luger throws a sloppy head kick and Mikala moves out of range easily.
Mikala throws a leg kick but Luger moved away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A lazy left from Luger finds it's target.

And that's the end of the fight!
Iokua Mikala comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Luger has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
