Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jojo Mfaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jojo Mfaki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jojo Mfaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Gomi! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mfaki dives in and grabs Gomi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gomi pushes down on Mfaki's head and hops out. Mfaki gets caught flat footed, as Gomi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gomi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mfaki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gomi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gomi works over Mfaki with some ground and pound from guard. Mfaki wants to stand but Gomi is controlling the position. Gomi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mfaki parries the strikes from Gomi easily there. Gomi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mfaki to escape.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mfaki is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Mfaki is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mfaki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gomi advances to mount. Gomi pushes Mfaki against the cage but Mfaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gomi moves in looking to clinch but Mfaki pushes him off. Gomi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mfaki did well to prevent Gomi getting side control. Gomi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mfaki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gomi prevents Mfaki from improving his position. Gomi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mfaki wants to get back to his feet.
