Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Dragomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schilt has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Gilbert Schilt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladimir Dragomon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gilbert Schilt! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schilt stuffs the takedown. Vladimir Dragomon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schilt looks gassed! Schilt throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Dragomon fails to land the takedown. Schilt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dragomon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Dragomon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schilt's waist but Schilt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dragomon off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Dragomon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dragomon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Schilt throws a combination that misses and Dragomon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schilt's guard. Schilt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dragomon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dragomon trying to control the position from guard on top but Schilt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dragomon thows a big elbow that misses. Dragomon wants to control from the top but Schilt keeps moving. Dragomon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dragomon passes easily into side control. Nice work. Schilt is not content to let Dragomon control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragomon stands up and we're back to a striking position. Dragomon scores with a jab to the body. Dragomon throws a head kick that half lands.
Schilt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Dragomon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dragomon. Schilt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dragomon misses with a takedown letting Schilt counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dragomon throws a head kick that misses. Schilt fails with the takedown. Dragomon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Schilt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dragomon uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Schilt has time to react. Dragomon stuns Schilt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice takedown defense from Schilt. No joy for Dragomon on that attempt. Dragomon tries to clinch there but Schilt circles away.
A head kick misses from Dragomon. Schilt blocks a head kick by Dragomon.
Dragomon stuffs the takedown. Dragomon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schilt to the mat! Schilt manages to get full guard. Dragomon wants to get up but he can't break Schilt's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dragomon with a flurry of punches that miss. Dragomon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schilt's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schilt trying to control but Dragomon postures up.
Dragomon is looking for a kimura but Schilt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dragomon to get the leverage. Schilt is looking to escape. Dragomon is pressing down on Schilt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Schilt is holding on for now. Dragomon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schilt defends it well. Schilt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dragomon is tying to control. Schilt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Dragomon trying to pass the guard but Schilt defending well. Dragomon stalling. Dragomon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schilt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dragomon lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Gilbert Schilt has been cut. Dragomon tries to clinch up. Dragomon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schilt as he avoids it easily. Dragomon lands with a right that hurts Schilt. Schilt looks to clinch but Dragomon throws a short knee that drops Schilt. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Vladimir Dragomon! Vladimir Dragomon is the new light heavyweight champion!
