Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nico Kohler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Adams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nico Kohler! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kohler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Adams counter with a right hand.
It looks like Nico Kohler has been cut. Adams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Adams misses with a takedown and Kohler counters with a crisp one two that drops Adams! Kohler thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Adams to his feet! Adams is in big trouble!
Adams is rocked! Kohler misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nico Kohler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kohler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kohler wants it to stay on the feet. Kohler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Adams shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kohler napping and manages to drive through into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Adams stands up and beckons Kohler to his feet. Kohler looks gassed! Kohler tries for a takedown but Adams circles away easily and Adams counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kohler keeping moving, preventing Adams from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kohler keeping full guard, as Adams tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adams trying to control but Kohler is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Adams wasn't doing enough on the ground. Adams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kohler's waist but Kohler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adams off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kohler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kohler fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Adams sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Horrible takedown by Adams or perhaps it was just good defense by Kohler which made him look bad. Kohler shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kohler wants to pass the guard but Adams is defending well. Adams is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kohler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kohler's back! Kohler holding both Adams 's hands and preventing any damage. Adams looking for the RNC. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Adams is looking to control Kohler but Kohler is wriggling around and keeping busy. Adams is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Kohler up.
Adams lands a shot to the head. Adams misses with punches from the back. Kohler covering up well and avoiding damage. Adams gets his hands free as Kohler looks to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kohler tries to escape but Adams has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Kohler defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Adams lands shots from the back. Kohler has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adams scores with punches and elbows. Adams throwing damaging strikes from the back! Kohler could be in trouble here!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Adams dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nico Kohler's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Adams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kohler tries to avoid it but Adams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kohler to the ground. Kohler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kohler misses with a takedown attempt so Adams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Adams won't allow Kohler to sweep him here. Adams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kohler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Adams prevents Kohler from getting back to his feet. Adams looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Adams landing with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adams throws and elbow that misses. Kohler uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Adams's guard. Nice move by Kohler! Kohler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kohler postures up.
Kohler with a flurry of punches that miss. Kohler throws a big right hand that misses. Kohler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Adams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Adams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Adams! Kohler avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Adams. Adams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Adams works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Kohler gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Adams is in the full mount, landing strikes. Adams landing strikes from the mount. Adams lands a heavy elbow. Kohler really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Adams wants to control the pace but Kohler is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Kohler hang on? Adams lands a heavy elbow. Kohler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Adams punishing his opponent with strikes. Kohler is in a horrible position here. Adams smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ken Adams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kohler tries to lock up and control but Adams gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kohler is squirming around, avoiding Adams's attempts to control the action. Kohler taking shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adams thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Kohler taking shots to the head. Kohler is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Adams lands a nice shot to the head. Adams with good strikes from the mount here! Kohler gets back to half guard. Kohler is not content to let Adams control the position. Kohler tries to roll over but Adams keeps him under control. Adams passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kohler! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kohler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Adams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kohler but Kohler pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kohler moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off. Kohler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Adams counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Adams wants to take a breather but Kohler is having none of it. Kohler won't allow Adams to pass to mount. Adams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kohler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Adams tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kohler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Adams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kohler avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Adams. Adams wants to pass to mount but Kohler is defending the position. Adams is looking to take a break and control but Kohler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kohler pushes Adams off looking to stand but Adams dives back in and keeps control.
Adams tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kohler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Adams seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kohler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Adams passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kohler! Kohler tries to hold on but Adams pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kohler is trying to escape the mount.
Adams working Kohler over with strikes here. Adams goes for an armbar but Kohler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kohler. Kohler throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kohler being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams is working an open guard so Kohler takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Kohler.
Adams doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kohler counters with a straight right hand. Adams is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kohler. Adams shoots in looking for a takedown but Kohler manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Adams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nico Kohler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Adams takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Adams fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Adams looking to control but Kohler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Adams landing strikes, looking to finish!
And that's the end of the fight! Ken Adams showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Adams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
