PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Susumo Komota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Webster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Komota might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Butsikek. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Susumo Komota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andreas Webster!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Komota darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Komota cracks Webster with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Komota lands a nice looking body kick.
Komota throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Webster shoots in for a takedown but Komota shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Komota misses with a lunging right hand
so Webster counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Webster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Komota swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Webster drops back, looking for a kneebar! Komota looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Komota looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Komota!

Komota knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Webster on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Webster sneaks back into half guard.
Komota wants to stand up but Webster has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Komota decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Komota throws a quick inside leg kick.
Komota lands a head shot.
Komota swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Komota throws an off balance right hand
and Webster counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Komota looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Komota throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Webster drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Komota manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Webster has Komota in his guard.
Komota decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Webster, up you get!
Komota misses with a double jab
and Webster counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Komota looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Webster is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Komota has managed to free his arm - good work.
Webster seems to be working for a kimura but Komota defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Webster maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Komota could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Webster has cracked it and Komota is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Webster!
