Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fu Kyou! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yuri Sarbinov! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kyou misses with a two punch combination.

Sarbinov throws a series of punches but Kyou moves out of range. Kyou gets a takedown into half guard. Sarbinov trying to control but Kyou postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sarbinov gets full guard. Kyou thows a big elbow that misses. Sarbinov is trying to control the position but Kyou postures up. Sarbinov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kyou kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Sarbinov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Yuri Sarbinov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Sarbinov forces Kyou back against the cage and clinches.

Kyou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kyou shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sarbinov is trying to defend but Kyou finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Sarbinov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sarbinov working a defensive guard here.
Sarbinov tries to land a sweep but no joy. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kyou accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sarbinov has Kyou pulled in close to control his posture. Kyou wants to pass the guard but Sarbinov is keeping the position. Sarbinov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kyou on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kyou tries to get out of the position. Sarbinov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kyou wants to get back to his feet. Kyou tries to roll over but Sarbinov keeps him under control. Ground and pound from Sarbinov. Kyou is defending against the submission attempts here by Sarbinov.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sarbinov with good strikes from the mount here! Sarbinov throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Sarbinov looking to ground and pound but Kyou is blocking nicely. Sarbinov throwing strikes here but Kyou is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Sarbinov sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Sarbinov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kyou has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Kyou taking shots to the head. Kyou looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Sarbinov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kyou can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Yuri Sarbinov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kyou tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sarbinov swivels and escapes. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kyou. Sarbinov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sarbinov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Sarbinov misses with a head shot. Kyou uses the momentum to regain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sarbinov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sarbinov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kyou dodges the ground and pound from Sarbinov. Sarbinov landing a few strikes. Sarbinov in side control, throwing shots but Kyou defends.

Kyou takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Sloppy strikes there by Sarbinov. Kyou tries to buck Sarbinov off but Sarbinov is having none of it. Sarbinov lands an elbow. Sarbinov wants to control but Kyou is keeping him busy. Kyou struggling a bit here. Sarbinov lands an elbow. Kyou tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sarbinov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kyou has escaped the position, nice work there. Sarbinov cracks Kyou with a big right hand but Kyou just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sarbinov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sarbinov throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Sarbinov tries to score with some ground and pound. Kyou controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Kyou wants to get back to his feet but Sarbinov drags him back down. Sarbinov in side control, throwing shots but Kyou defends. Kyou on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kyou is rocked! Sarbinov has hold of Kyou's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kyou seems comfortable defending it but Sarbinov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kyou is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kyou is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sarbinov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Yuri Sarbinov!
