He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
lianza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Williams tries for a takedown but lianza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Williams looks gassed!
Williams fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
lianza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Williams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. lianza defends it easily.

lianza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Williams is proving hard to escape from.

lianza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and lianza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Williams connects with a nice short shot to lianza's temple.
Williams is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
lianza wants to control but Williams is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Williams is looking for a kimura here.
Williams stops lianza from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Williams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

lianza is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Williams has just dragged him back down to the mat.
You can see the frustration on lianza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

lianza is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Williams asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Williams in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
lianza takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Williams has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Williams is landing with some decent strikes but lianza is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Williams sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

lianza wants to hold on but Williams pushes him away.
lianza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground.
Williams lands a big shot there that rocks lianza but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams lands a heavy elbow.
lianza in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. lianza looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Williams! Submission of the night perhaps?
