Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Whit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppin Larter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larter has chosen Analiese as his entrance music. Peppin Larter will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ernie Whit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peppin Larter! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whit throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Whit looks to score with a jab to the body but Larter is just out of range. Nice sprawl there from Larter as Whit shoots in. A momentary lapse in concentration from Larter enables Whit to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Larter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Whit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Larter keeping moving, preventing Whit from controlling successfully. Larter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Whit is controlling him. Whit pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Larter is keeping the position for now. Larter trying to control the position.
Whit trying to control but Larter is working from the bottom. Whit throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Whit throws a strike but Larter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Whit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Larter is one step ahead there. Larter controlling from the top position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Larter tries to free his leg and advance position but Whit is retaining full guard. Larter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Whit wants to hit a switch here but Larter passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Whit there! Whit might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee warns Whit that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Larter is landing with some decent strikes but Whit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Larter looking to secure an arm triangle but Whit defends it well. Whit is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Whit is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Larter tries to control but Whit wriggling away. Larter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Whit looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whit keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Larter unloading with bombs! Whit is trying desperately to improve position. Larter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Whit hang on? Whit tries to reverse the position but Larter maintains control. Whit wants to hold on but Larter pushes him away. Whit working to try and regain half guard.
Larter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Whit can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Larter looking to finish Whit with some ground and pound. This is bad for Whit! Whit slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Nice strikes from Larter there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larter prevents Whit from improving his position. Whit wants to control but Larter is keeping busy.
Larter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Whit is trying to get back to full guard. Whit controlling the position well. Whit is staying active underneath Larter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Whit tries to roll over but Larter keeps him under control. Larter is figuring out what he wants to do next. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peppin Larter dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Whit gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Larter lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Whit backwards. Whit misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Whit tries a body shot but Larter blocks it.
Whit stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Larter tries to throw a body punch but Whit avoids it by throwing Larter back against the cage. Larter doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Larter lands on the inside with an uppercut. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Larter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Larter lands with a left to the head. Whit tries a body shot but Larter blocks it.
Larter throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Whit is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Larter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. A nice right hand lands inside from Whit. Larter manages to break the clinch.
Whit forces Larter back against the cage and clinches. Larter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Larter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Whit wants to improve his position but Larter is controlling well.
Larter is breathing heavily. Whit is looking to control Larter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Whit avoid being mounted? Whit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Larter on the ground.

Larter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Whit regains full guard. Nicely done. Whit looking for a sweep. Not yet Whit, not yet. Larter working some strikes from top position. Whit pulls Larter in close to prevent any damage. Whit keeping moving, preventing Larter from controlling successfully. Whit manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Larter manages to regain half guard. Good work. Larter kicks off Whit and gets to his feet. Whit has closed the distance and engaged Larter in a clinch.

Larter lands a right hand. Whit misses with a hook to the ribs.

Larter lands a nice shot to the body. Whit tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Larter is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Whit drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Larter gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Larter lands a hook that snaps the head of Whit backwards.

Whit has Larter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Whit pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Larter tumbling to the mat - Whit dives into Larter's guard. Larter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Whit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Whit thows a big elbow that misses. Whit wants to pass the guard but Larter is keeping the position. Whit landing some decent shots from guard. Larter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ernie Whit will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Larter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Whit gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Larter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Larter won't allow Whit to sweep him here. Larter wants to control from the top but Whit keeps moving. Whit tries to land a sweep but no joy. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Larter makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Whit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Larter!
