Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Dent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Dent had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Dent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Murakami!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dent clinches.
Murakami is working for takedown but Dent is calmly controlling the position for now.
Murakami goes for a takedown attempt but Dent pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Murakami uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dent.
Murakami wants to clinch but Dent slips to the side

and Dent decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Murakami's guard.
Murakami preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dent wants to pass the guard but Murakami is keeping the position.
Dent postures up.

Dent drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dent jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dent working away.
Dent working the ground and pound but Murakami is defending the strikes.

Dent goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murakami has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dent but great work by Murakami.
Murakami working the strikes but Dent uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murakami passes the guard and advances to mount!
Dent keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dent reaches up to try and control the position but Murakami seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Dent rolls and tries to escape and now Murakami has his back!
Dent tries to escape but Murakami has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Dent turns into Murakami and is now in his guard.
Murakami is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Murakami is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Murakami looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dent with a flurry of punches that miss.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dent.
Dent working the body and head with strikes.

Dent has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Murakami closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dent to the mat! Dent manages to get full guard.

Dent looking for a guillotine here but Murakami defends easily.
Dent trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Dent working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murakami doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murakami manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dent wants to sweep but no luck.

Murakami avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Murakami wants to get up but he can't break Dent's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Murakami trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murakami manages to get himself to full guard.

Dent is looking to work some ground and pound but Murakami has wrist control.
Dent pushes down on Murakami's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Murakami doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Dent counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Dent avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Dent is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Murakami is breathing heavily.
Dent preventing the sweep.

Dent stands and steps away. Murakami gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Murakami sprawls well initially but Dent persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dent wants to pass the guard but Murakami is defending well.
Dent is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Dent seems to be working for a kimura but Murakami defends the submission attempt.
Dent is thwarting Murakami's attempts to control the position.
Dent trying to mount his opponent but Murakami defends it.

Dent stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Murakami to get to his feet.

Dent closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dent lands in his opponent's guard.

Dent pushes down on Murakami's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dent landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Dent prevents Murakami from improving his position.

Dent seems to be looking for submissions.
Dent passes to full mount!

Murakami takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Murakami is squirming around, avoiding Dent's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dent punishing his opponent with strikes.
Dent pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Murakami is in a horrible position here. Dent smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dent lands a heavy elbow.
Dent lands a nice shot to the head.
The referee warns Murakami that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Dent is landing with some decent strikes but Murakami is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dent takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dent is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Murakami has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Murakami is desperately trying to improve his position but Dent has a good base and remains in mount.
BOOM! Dent connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Arthur Dent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dent landing strikes from the mount and Murakami is in trouble!
Dent has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Murakami's face.

Dent breaks from Murakami's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Murakami manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Dent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murakami keeps working.
Murakami is in trouble now - Dent has advanced to mount!
Murakami in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arthur Dent dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Nice sprawl there from Murakami as Dent shoots in.

Murakami shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Murakami can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dent is looking to escape.

Murakami looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Murakami might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dent kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dent in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Dent keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Murakami can't control as he wanted to and Dent manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Murakami takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murakami is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dent is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Murakami's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Murakami's back!
Murakami wants to control his opponent's hands but Dent gets his hands free.

Dent is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Murakami with him. Murakami is trying to defend but Dent has an arm under the chin now! Murakami grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Arthur Dent!
