Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rafhael Angeles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Salmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafhael Angeles looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafhael Angeles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karl Salmon!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salmon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Angeles looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Angeles shoots in for a takedown but Salmon shows good takedown defense.

Salmon shoots in and gets a takedown into Angeles's guard.
Salmon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Salmon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Angeles napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Salmon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Salmon has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Angeles!

Angeles is in all sorts of trouble here.
Salmon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Angeles is wriggling around trying to escape.

Salmon has control of Angeles's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Angeles regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Angeles is looking to improve his position but Salmon isn't that keen on the idea.

Angeles is bucking up trying to escape but Salmon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Angeles is squirming around, avoiding Salmon's attempts to control the action.

Salmon lands a big shot there that rocks Angeles but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Salmon with shots to the head and body - Angeles looks very uncomfortable down there.
Salmon trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Salmon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Salmon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Angeles to take his back!
Salmon lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Salmon biding his time, looking for the opening.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
You can see the frustration on Angeles's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Salmon dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Salmon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Salmon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Angeles to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Angeles shrugs it off.
Salmon lands with some strikes.
Karl Salmon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Salmon is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Salmon extends the arm and Angeles is forced to tap!
