The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Borges avoids it really well and circles away.
Borges slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Borges shoots and misses
and Carvalho counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Carvalho.
Carvalho wants to control from the top but Borges keeps moving.
Carvalho stands up from Borges's guard - Carvalho perhaps looking for a knockout.
Borges gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Carvalho counters with a single leg into guard. Borges didn't expect that.

Carvalho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Borges is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carvalho, into his guard.
