Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Schecter Engl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Engl comes to the cage accompanied by Trafalgar - Requiem for the Last King. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zak Anderson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson cracks a nice hook into Engl's ribs. Anderson throws a right and a left that both miss. Zak Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Engl's guard. Engl keeping full guard, as Anderson tries to pass. Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Engl is keeping the position for now. Anderson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. I looks like Anderson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Zak Anderson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Anderson shoots in and drives through. Engl sprawls well. Anderson misses with a combination
and Engl decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anderson's guard. Engl is fighting to break Anderson's control of his arms but Anderson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Engl can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Engl wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his posture from full guard. Anderson controlling Engl's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson keeping moving, preventing Engl from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Engl has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Anderson is proving hard to escape from. Anderson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Engl is one step ahead there. Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Engl has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Engl stopping the sweep attempt from Anderson. Anderson tries to strike from the bottom.
Anderson is adopting a defensive guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Let's hope that Anderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Engl rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Anderson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anderson. Anderson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Engl preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Anderson thows a big elbow that misses. Engl working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Anderson. Anderson is looking to work some ground and pound but Engl has wrist control. Engl knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground. Engl is breathing heavily. Anderson cracks Engl with a solid left hand. Anderson landing with the ground and pound. Anderson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Engl utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Anderson throwing strikes but missing. Anderson is looking to work some ground and pound but Engl has wrist control. Anderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Anderson lands a couple of decent looking shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. A momentary lapse in concentration from Engl enables Anderson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Engl manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Engl utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Anderson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Anderson thows a big elbow that misses. Anderson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Anderson sitting in guard, not really doing much. OK we're going to have a standup here. Zak Anderson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Anderson scores with a shot to the body.
Anderson lands with an uppercut that bounces Engl off the cage and back into rage. Anderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Engl to the mat! Engl manages to get full guard. Anderson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Anderson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Engl some visible discomfort.
Engl on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Zak Anderson has got the better of the ground game so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Anderson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Engl has escaped the position, nice work there. Anderson landing a few strikes. Engl is being controlled here. Anderson in side control lands a decent elbow. Anderson slows the pace down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Anderson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Engl is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
