PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Man Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Hunter or perhaps it was just good defense by Kerr which made him look bad.

Kerr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hunter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kerr works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Hunter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kerr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kerr is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hunter's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hunter tries to bench press Kerr off him but Kerr keeps the position.
Kerr throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hunter is looking to regain half guard here but Kerr keeps moving and retains side control.
Kerr grinds an elbow into Hunter's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kerr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kerr lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hunter down.
Hunter is looking for a sweep.
Kerr connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hunter some visible discomfort.
Hunter takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Hunter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hunter is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The referee asks Kerr politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kerr prefers to stall for the moment though.
Let's hope that Kerr has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hunter doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kerr counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kerr is nestled in close to Hunter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kerr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hunter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kerr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kerr looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hunter is desperately trying to improve his position but Kerr has a good base and remains in mount.

Kerr cracks Hunter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kerr cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hunter is rocked!
Kerr is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Hunter goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Kerr!
