Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Young Tutankhamon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Sots! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tutankhamon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sots sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A big right from Sots misses. Sots is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Tutankhamon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sots did well to prevent Tutankhamon getting side control. Tutankhamon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sots does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sots is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sots tries to land a sweep but no joy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sots can do anything to dispel that myth. Sots trying to control the position.
Tutankhamon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Tutankhamon stopping the sweep attempt from Sots. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tutankhamon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Tutankhamon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sots works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tutankhamon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tutankhamon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sots is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Tutankhamon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tutankhamon throws a big right hand that misses. Tutankhamon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sots is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tutankhamon, into his guard. Tutankhamon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tutankhamon stalling away here and it's allowed Sots to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Tutankhamon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sots is keeping the position for now. Tutankhamon won't allow Sots to sweep him here. Tutankhamon trying to control the position from guard on top but Sots is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tutankhamon looking to sit in guard and control but Sots gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Tutankhamon wants to stand and escape but Sots is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sots wants to control from the top but Tutankhamon keeps moving. Sots wants to pass the guard but Tutankhamon is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Young Tutankhamon will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sots tries to bum rush Tutankhamon with a series of wild strikes but Tutankhamon uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tutankhamon fails to land the takedown. Sots circles away from the clinch attempt and Sots counters with a left to the body. Young Tutankhamon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sots misses with a double jab
and Tutankhamon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tutankhamon. Sots is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tutankhamon looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sots keeping moving, preventing Tutankhamon from controlling successfully. Tutankhamon advances to half guard. Tutankhamon is working for a kimura but Sots is defending it quite comfortably.
Tutankhamon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sots blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tutankhamon. Sots tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tutankhamon has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Sots tries to hold on but Tutankhamon pushes him away. Tutankhamon throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sots is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tutankhamon throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Sots is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Sots in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Tutankhamon looking to secure an arm triangle but Sots defends it well. Sots is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tutankhamon throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sots because Tutankhamon loaded up on that one. Sots can't escape the position.
Tutankhamon is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sots has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sots! Sots trying to control the position from guard on top but Tutankhamon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Young Tutankhamon dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Tutankhamon moves to clinch but Sots breaks away and Sots counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sots is looking to score with low kicks. Sots rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tutankhamon moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sots falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tutankhamon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sots's guard now. Sots wants to improve his position but instead Tutankhamon has moved into half guard.
Sots slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Sots is pulling down on Tutankhamon's head to control his posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sots utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tutankhamon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tutankhamon trying to control but Sots is working from the bottom. Tutankhamon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tutankhamon tries for a takedown but Sots circles away easily and Sots connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sots throws a combination that misses and Tutankhamon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Tutankhamon looking for a takedown. Tutankhamon stalling against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Tutankhamon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

George Sots has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tutankhamon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

And that's the end of the fight! Young Tutankhamon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tutankhamon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
