Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blaine Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price comes to the cage accompanied by The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vinnie Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blaine Stone!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone swings widly with a right hand
and Stone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Crunch! Price slams his shin into Stone's torso.
Price throws a good cross that connects.
Price lands with an overhand left.
Stone misses with an uppercut
and Price counters with a nice body kick.
Price connects with a crisp jab.

Stone changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Price looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Price tries to bench press Stone off him but Stone keeps the position.
Stone misses with the ground and pound.
Price managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Stone.

Price knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stone on the ground.
Price is trying to control Stone's posture but Stone avoids it.
Price regains half guard, as Stone was trying to land strikes.
Stone prevents Price from improving his position.
Stone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Price keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stone tries to pass the half guard into mount. Price knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Price is trying to control but can't.
Stone is trying to control the action in half guard but Price is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Stone landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Stone looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Price with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stone is pressing down on Price's thigh, looking to free his foot. Price is holding on for now.
Stone sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Price defending well though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Price is refusing to be controlled, as Stone sits in half guard.
Price trying to hold on to Stone's head to control him but Stone postures up.
Stone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stone winds up and cracks Price with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Stone thows a huge punch but Price dodges it nicely.
Price is doing well to control the position and prevent Stone from advancing to side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Price keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vinnie Price will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Stone throws a hook to the side of Price's head but Price sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Price counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Price counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Stone thinking.
Price throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Vinnie Price seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Price lands with a right hand.
Price fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stone.
Stone shoots in but Price avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Stone is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Stone avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stone looks for a takedown but Price sprawls well.
Vinnie Price has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blaine Stone.
Stone changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Price tries to avoid it but Stone manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Price to the ground. Price escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Price throws a leg kick which misses Stone's front leg but catches the back leg as Stone tries to avoid it.
Price throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Stone on the side of the head.

Stone on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Price. Price obviously looking to wear him down.

Price lands with a kick to the ribs.
Price throws a head kick that Stone semi-blocks.
Stone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Price scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stone moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stone takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Price feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Stones jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Price throws a nice looking combination but Stone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Price moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Price tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stone paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Price sizes up Stone with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Price thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Stone if he has to take too many more of those.

Vinnie Price is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Price throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Price explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Price fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Stone has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Price.

and Price counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Price lands with a hook. Stone tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Price throws a good cross that connects.
Price cracks Stone with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Stone shoots in looking for a takedown. Price tries to sprawl out of it but Stone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Price manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Blaine Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stone's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Stone drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Price digs a good body shot into Stone's ribs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Price.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stone gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Price stuns Stone with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stone takes a shot right to the bread basket.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vinnie Price showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Price, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
