Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDougal's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Meddler - August Burns Red. Mike McDougal has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from McDougal - that will leave a mark!
Silva takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDougal but McDougal pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fight stays on the outside here - McDougal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McDougal is fighting off a takedown attempt but Silva is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McDougal to the mat. McDougal regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McDougal wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. McDougal won't be happy with that.

McDougal throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva.
McDougal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but McDougal pushes him off.

A close round but Urijah Silva will probably get the nod.

McDougal lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

McDougal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but McDougal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Horrible takedown by McDougal or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

McDougal lands with a nice combination. Silva backs away looking to recover.

McDougal throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. McDougal didn't expect that.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McDougal decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Silva has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McDougal is trying to keep an underhook but Silva manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McDougal with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Silva stands up and beckons McDougal to join him on the feet.

Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McDougal is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McDougal can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. McDougal looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDougal is working to avoid the ground and pound but Silva connects with a decent elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

McDougal pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Silva is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but McDougal pulls his head out easily.

McDougal thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Silva if he has to take too many more of those.

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silva.

McDougal tries a head kick but it misses.

McDougal throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

McDougal changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McDougal gets to mount! Silva was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

McDougal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding McDougal's attempts to control the action.
Mike McDougal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike McDougal.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
