PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Tut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jessie whittaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tut kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rember the name. jessie whittaker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Tut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jessie whittaker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tut uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by whittaker.
A slow jab from whittaker misses its intended target.
Tut shoots and misses
and whittaker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tut has his takedown stuffed
and whittaker counters with a stiff right hand.
Tut doesn't succeed with the takedown
and whittaker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Tut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
whittaker misses with the combination.
Tut closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Tut counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for whittaker!

Tut has hold of whittaker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and whittaker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

whittaker stops Tut from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Tut goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now whittaker is on top in guard.

Tut is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in whittaker's half guard.
whittaker is refusing to be controlled, as Tut sits in half guard.

Tut is sneakily working for an arm triangle but whittaker sees it coming and defends easily.
Tut wants to pass to mount but whittaker is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tut is working for a submission of some sort.
Tut trying to control from half guard but whittaker is working away.

Tut seems to be looking for submissions.

whittaker is defending against the submission attempts here by Tut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but jessie whittaker will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Tut counters with a left and a right that stings whittaker.

so Tut counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
whittaker can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tut controls the pace.
whittaker wants to stand but Tut is controlling the position.

Tut drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tut jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tut drops back looking for a leg! whittaker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and whittaker manages to kick Tut off! Tut jumps back into whittaker's guard.
Tut pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. whittaker is keeping the position for now.
Tut has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of whittaker is proving hard to escape from.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Tut wants to control from the top but whittaker keeps moving.
Tut will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tut passes whittaker's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Tut is sneakily working for an arm triangle but whittaker sees it coming and defends easily.
whittaker is trying to stand up here but Tut is controlling him well.

Tut is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
whittaker wants to get back to his feet.

Tut is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tut prevents whittaker from standing back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
whittaker is staying active underneath Tut, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
whittaker is looking to escape.

Tut is working for a submission of some sort.
Tut wants to take a breather but whittaker is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Tut dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


whittaker throws an overhand right that lands on Tut's shoulder, as Tut tries to avoid the shot.

Tut feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tut is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Tut thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tut prevents whittaker from getting back to his feet.

Tut has gone for a leg lock! whittaker slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tut's guard.

Tut is looking for a triangle here but whittaker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Tut manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tut thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed whittaker's head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tut not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tut is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. whittaker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tut.

King Tut showed his dominance in that final round.
