Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bran Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dominic Vera!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera throws a jab but it's blocked by Li.
Vera shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Li is trying to defend but Vera finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Vera missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Vera not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Vera working Li over with strikes.
Vera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vera working over Li with some ground and pound. Li looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Li avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vera.

Vera uses his free foot to push down on Li's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Li.
Li has left one of his arms exposed and Vera doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Li screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
