Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remy Lava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Falaris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lava's entrance music is Numero 1. A fine choice. Falaris has chosen Single Ladies - Brazilian Version as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Remy Lava!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Falaris!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falaris takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Falaris moves out of range as Lava throws a body kick.
Falaris throws a body kick that misses.
Lava throws a series of punches but Falaris moves out of range.
Falaris lands with a nice combination. Lava backs away looking to recover.
Lava stalks Falaris and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Falaris's face. Falaris staggers backwards, shaken.
Falaris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lava swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lava throws a sloppy head kick
and Falaris counters with a thumping low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Lava.
Lava misses with a jab to the body
and Falaris counters with a good, hard body kick but Lava shrugs it off.
A low kick from Lava misses
and Falaris counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Lava tries to land a front kick but Falaris steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Lava closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Falaris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lava. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Falaris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lava lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Falaris throws a right hand that misses
and Lava counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Falaris is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Marcus Falaris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Falaris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
An inside leg kick lands from Falaris.
Lava misses with a kick to the body
and Falaris counters with a body kick.
Falaris thuds his shin into the meat of Lava's side.

Lava drops his hands momentarily and Falaris takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Lava throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Falaris counters with an inside leg kick.
Falaris lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Falaris misses with a body shot
and Lava cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Falaris throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Lava shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Falaris's guard.

Lava loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lava won't allow Falaris to get back to his feet.
Falaris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lava controls the pace.
Lava might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Falaris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Falaris throws a leg kick but Lava sees it coming and moves out of range.

and Lava cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Lava counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Falaris throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Lava misses with a body punch
and Falaris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lava takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Falaris throws a lazy head kick
and Lava counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Falaris is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Lava will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Falaris dodges the punch combination from Lava.
Lava misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Falaris.
Falaris looks to score with a jab to the body but Lava is just out of range.
Lava throws a leg kick
and Falaris counters with a good low kick that Lava was not able to check.

Nice defenses there by Lava.
Falaris moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Falaris uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lava has time to react.

and Lava makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Falaris throws a leg kick but Lava sees it coming and moves out of range.

Marcus Falaris seems to be getting the better of the standup.

enabling Falaris to counter with a crisp jab.

Falaris throws a low kick but Lava moves out of range easily.
Falaris has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Falaris throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Lava counters with a nice double leg into side control. Falaris won't be happy with that.
Lava looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Falaris is avoiding damage well.
Falaris is trying to buck Lava off.
Lava misses with the ground and pound.
Lava throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Lava trying to control the action but Falaris is working from the bottom.
Falaris dodges the ground and pound from Lava.

Falaris wants to get back to his feet.
Lava moves into full mount!
Falaris wants to try and get back to his feet.
Lava looking to control but Falaris is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lava unloads with some shots from mount but Falaris bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Remy Lava will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Falaris counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Lava takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Falaris throws a looping overhand right but Lava ducks down to avoid it.
Falaris throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Falaris looks to land a body kick but Lava moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lava won't allow Falaris to get back to his feet.

Lava is pushing down on Falaris's leg trying to pass to half guard. Falaris is fighting to maintain full guard but Lava has managed to sneak the leg through.

Lava is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Lava is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Falaris has managed to free his arm - good work.

Falaris is looking to escape.
Lava is keen to just control but Falaris is a slippery customer.
Lava thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Falaris pushes Lava off but Lava dives into side control.
Lava moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Falaris regains half guard, as Lava was trying to land strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Falaris is trying to stand up here but Lava is controlling him well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lava lands a nice short elbow.
Falaris blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lava.
Lava is trying to control the action in half guard but Falaris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lava thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Falaris's head.
Lava wants to pass to mount but Falaris is defending the position.

Falaris is defending against the submission attempts here by Lava.
Falaris is not content to let Lava control the position.

Falaris manages to escape and get back to his feet!

And that's the end of the fight!
Remy Lava showed his dominance in that final round.
