The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ReaPeR shoots for a takedown but Thorn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
ReaPeR swings for the body but Thorn moves out of range.
ReaPeR dives in and grabs Thorn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thorn pushes down on ReaPeR's head and hops out.
Thorn tries to clinch there but ReaPeR circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thorn. ReaPeR does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thorn is looking to clinch but ReaPeR is avoiding it.
Thorn tries to close the distance and clinch up but ReaPeR swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Thorn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming ReaPeR to the mat! ReaPeR manages to get full guard.
ReaPeR is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
ReaPeR tries to pass to full mount but Thorn defends it.
Thorn is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

ReaPeR tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Thorn.
ReaPeR prevents Thorn from standing back up.

ReaPeR seems to be working for a kimura but Thorn defends the submission attempt.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
ReaPeR seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Thorn for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because AcE ReaPeR just wasn't active enough.
Thorn moves in looking to clinch but ReaPeR pushes him off.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Thorn.
ReaPeR gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Thorn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with ReaPeR. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thorn is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Thorn stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and ReaPeR has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Thorn manages to get his head free but now ReaPeR has transitioned to an armbar! Thorn grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from ReaPeR! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
