Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dmonray Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hydeo Takaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takaro has chosen Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine as his entrance music. Hydeo Takaro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmonray Malapitan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Hydeo Takaro!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takaro tries to sprawl but Malapitan drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Takaro lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Malapitan!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malapitan has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Takaro is looking for the choke from the back position but Malapitan is controlling his hands well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Malapitan is trying to control the position but Takaro postures up.

Takaro tries to clinch

and Malapitan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Takaro tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Malapitan just stands there and leans against the cage.
Takaro wants to break free but Malapitan has control.
A frustrated look appears on Takaro's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Takaro pulls guard effortlessly.
Takaro has momentary wrist control but Malapitan slips an elbow through the middle.
Malapitan's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Malapitan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Malapitan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takaro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Malapitan stands and steps away. Takaro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Malapitan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Takaro's guard now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Malapitan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Takaro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Malapitan has Takaro in his guard.
Malapitan wants to sweep but no luck.

Takaro stands and steps away. Malapitan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Takaro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Malapitan did well to prevent Takaro getting side control.

Takaro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Malapitan is just riding it out for now. Takaro eventually gives up the hold.
Takaro content to control rather than advance.

Malapitan is staying active underneath Takaro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Takaro is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Malapitan reverses the position - he's now on top in Takaro's guard.

Malapitan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takaro is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takaro has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Malapitan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Takaro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Takaro wants to control from the top but Malapitan keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Malapitan wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hydeo Takaro wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Malapitan counters by moving into the clinch.
Takaro is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hydeo Takaro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Takaro is pressed up against the cage. Malapitan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Takaro down to the mat. Takaro avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Malapitan slips a jab and a cross from Takaro.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dmonray Malapitan.
Well Malapitan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
