PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alessio Delvecchio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Delvecchio comes to the cage accompanied by Laura non c'e. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alessio Delvecchio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Steve Fox!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nice body punch from Delvecchio.
Horrible takedown by Fox or perhaps it was just good defense by Delvecchio which made him look bad.
Delvecchio throws a hook but Fox blocks it.
The fighters circling - Delvecchio throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fox gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Fox closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Delvecchio did well to prevent Fox getting side control.
Fox works his foot free and advances to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Delvecchio is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fox throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Fox has control of Delvecchio's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Delvecchio regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fox is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Delvecchio is surviving well by controlling Fox's body position as best he can.
Delvecchio wants to control but Fox is having none of it.
Delvecchio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Delvecchio tries to get out of the position.
Fox takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Delvecchio squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Fox punishing his opponent with strikes.
Fox throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Fox working for a guillotine from mount but Delvecchio is in no mood to give up.
Delvecchio tries to buck Fox off but he can't manage it.
Fox thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Fox lands with some strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fox is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Delvecchio to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Delvecchio shrugs it off.
Fox tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fox connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Fox quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Fox but it's paid off an Delvecchio is forced to tap! Nice work by Fox.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steve Fox!
