Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coco Flamez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendes comes to the cage accompanied by All Of The Lights. Chad Mendes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Coco Flamez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chad Mendes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Coco Flamez! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes shoots in looking for a takedown but Flamez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mendes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mendes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Mendes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mendes wants to clinch. Mendes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Flamez to score an easy takedown into full guard. Flamez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Flamez wants to pass the guard but Mendes is keeping the position. Flamez passes Mendes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Flamez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Flamez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flamez moves nicely into side control. Flamez moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Flamez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flamez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Coco Flamez dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Mendes tries to sprawl but Flamez drives through with a takedown into half guard. Flamez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mendes sees it coming and defends easily. Mendes tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Flamez manages to move to mount!
Flamez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Flamez has control of Mendes's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mendes regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flamez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mendes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Flamez is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Flamez!
