Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gahn Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by Creedence Clearwater Revival: Down On The Corner . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jah tries a head kick but it misses.
Donk. Thompson catches Jah right on the button with a cross.
Jah moves into range and connects with a jab.
Jah throws a combination that misses
and Thompson counters by clinching up.
Jah is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Thompson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jah is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Thompson stalling.
Jah tries to break free but Thompson pushes him back against the cage.

Jah avoids a wild elbow strike from Thompson.

Thompson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jah.
Jah is trying to drag Thompson to the mat but Thompson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Thompson closes the distance and pushes Jah back into the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Thompson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jah's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
It looks like Gahn Jah has been cut.
Jah looks gassed!
Jah can't get the takedown.
Tommy Thompson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gahn Jah.
The referee is keeping an eye on Thompson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jah drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thompson pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson lands a glancing blow to the side of Jah's head.
Thompson forces Jah back against the cage and clinches.
Jah tries to break free but Thompson pushes him back against the cage.
Jah takes a shot to the head.
Thompson throws a big uppercut that drops Jah! More strikes from Thompson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Jah lies dazed against the cage as Thompson celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Thompson!
