PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gold Mint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gold Mint!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mint!

Jefferson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mint's half guard.
Mint wants to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jefferson lands a nice short elbow.

Jefferson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mint with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jefferson connects with a nice short shot to Mint's temple.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jefferson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mint, who protects the arm well.

Mint tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jefferson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mint bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jefferson's guard.

Jefferson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mint is defending well. Jefferson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mint has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jefferson celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
