Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joey Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey He (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joey Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrey He! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! He tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Charles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. He lands with a nice combination. Charles backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Joey Charles has been cut. Charles tests He's chin there with a solid looking shot. Charles throws a head kick that misses. He checks a low kick from Charles. He drops Charles with a left and a right! Oh, Charles is hurt - He dives into side control looking to finish!
Charles is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Charles is trying to control He's posture but He avoids it. He wants to stand but Charles is controlling his arm. He trying to control the action but Charles is working from the bottom. Charles is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles struggling a bit here. He is looking to take a break and control but Charles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Charles trying his best to control but He has mounted him. Charles tries to lock up and control but He gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Charles is looking to improve his position but He isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. He wants to control the pace but Charles is squirming around nicely. Charles is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles is breathing heavily. He controlling his opponent. Charles tries to hold on but He pushes him away. Charles really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. He tries to control but Charles wriggling away. Charles wants to hold on but He pushes him away. He controlling from mount. He tries to control but Charles wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrey He dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joey Charles's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Charles throws a head kick that misses. He uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Charles.
He is looking to clinch. Charles looks to land a right hand but He moved out of range. He uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Charles. Charles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
He attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. He throws a right and a left that both miss. He rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Charles moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Charles throws a right and a left that both miss. He tries to clinch there but Charles circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. He avoids the head kick by Charles.

That's one minute gone in the round. He shoots in looking for a takedown but Charles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing He's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. He tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Charles swivels and escapes. Charles throws a left and a right that both miss
and He counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Charles is lucky that one didn't land flush. He tries to clinch up but Charles circles away and keeps his distance. Joey Charles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. He will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
He fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. No luck with that takedown attempt from He. Joey Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey He. He fails to land with a series of punches.
Joey Charles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Charles turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. He swinging wildly here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
He misses with a body kick. Charles moves out of range of the body kick. Charles lands a front kick. He throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Charles's head. He tries to bum rush Charles with a series of wild strikes but Charles uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Charles looks to score with a jab to the body but He is just out of range. He throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A combination from Charles does no damage. Charles misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's three minutes gone in the round. He looks to land a combination. Charles sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. He throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Charles smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. He throws a head kick but Charles moves out of range.

Andrey He showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Joey Charles's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and He makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. He closes the distance and clinches up with Charles, looking for a takedown. He pushes Charles against the cage but Charles circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. He scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
He takes a body punch but keeps moving. A punch combination from He misses. Charles dodges the punch combination from He.
Charles scores with the left hand. He knows he should have avoided that one. Joey Charles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Charles pushing out the jab but it's not landing. He throws a right hand that Charles ducks under and follows up with a left that Charles also avoids with ease. Joey Charles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Crunch! He slams his shin into Charles's torso. Charles falls off balance throwing a combination
and He counters with a one-two to the body. Charles showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from He.
He walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Charles checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Charles throws a head kick that misses and He counters with an inside leg kick. Charles pushes He away with a front kick. He connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. He shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Charles as he jumps to the side. Joey Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrey He.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles throws a nice looking combination but He bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. He tries to clinch up but Charles circles away and keeps his distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from He is defended easily by Charles. Charles avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice shot lands for Charles. Charles stuffs the takedown attempt from He. He gets slowly back to his feet. Charles looks to throw the jab but He is out of range.

Andrey He is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Charles will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Charles throws a hook but He blocks it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fight stays on the outside here - He looks like he's thinking about clinching though. He fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Andrey He. Well He has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
