Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson fails with a takedown attempt.

Anderson takes one on the button.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anderson dodges the punch combination from Dowe.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dowe is on top in guard.

and Dowe counters with a left and a right that stings Anderson.

and Dowe counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dowe is looking to break free of the clinch but Anderson has double underhooks.
Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dowe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Dowe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anderson wants to improve his position but Dowe is controlling well.
Anderson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dowe is working away from the top position though.
Dowe wants to get back to his feet.

Anderson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dowe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Well, if Dowe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Dowe counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Dowe manages to mount him!

and Dowe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Dowe decides to stand up, so the ref orders Anderson to his feet.

and Dowe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dowe lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dowe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Anderson counters with a flying knee that drops Dowe!

Anderson wants to control from the top but Dowe keeps moving.

Anderson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

and Dowe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dowe is looking to clinch but Anderson is avoiding it.

and Dowe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dowe.

Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dowe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dowe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Anderson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dowe is working an open guard so Anderson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
