Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cal Ripken Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ab Sly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sly has chosen In Flames - My Sweet Shadow as his entrance music. Cal Ripken Jr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cal Ripken Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ab Sly! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ripken Jr is looking to clinch. Horrible takedown by Sly or perhaps it was just good defense by Ripken Jr which made him look bad. Sly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ripken Jr's waist but Ripken Jr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sly off to one side. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sly is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ripken Jr gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cal Ripken Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ab Sly. Ripken Jr stops a takedown attempt from Sly.
Ripken Jr manages to break the clinch.
Sly shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ripken Jr as he avoids it easily. Ripken Jr tries a head kick but it misses.
Sly looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ripken Jr! Ripken Jr is trying to stand but he's just given Sly his back. Sly is persistently looking for the submission but Ripken Jr is defending it well.
Ripken Jr is trying to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ripken Jr defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sly's arms. Ripken Jr holding both Sly 's hands and preventing any damage. Sly is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ripken Jr has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Ripken Jr showing good submission defense here.
Ripken Jr is trying to remain composed but Sly is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ripken Jr has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Sly has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Ripken Jr is trying to stand back up. Ripken Jr is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sly gets his way!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ripken Jr looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sly struggling to land strikes to the head as Ripken Jr covers up. Ripken Jr controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Sly tightening his grip on Ripken Jr, looking for the choke. Sly is cranking Ripken Jr's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Ripken Jr! He's tightened the choke and Ripken Jr is tapping out!
