Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Avenlino Srobud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Kirby! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirby takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Excellent takedown into side control there by Srobud. Srobud tries to advance to mount but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Srobud crashes against the mat.
Srobud has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kirby is letting Srobud control him for a moment. Kirby avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Srobud. Srobud working the body and head with strikes. Srobud in side control, throwing shots but Kirby defends. Srobud trying to control the action but Kirby is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kirby managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Srobud.
Kirby really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Srobud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Srobud looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Srobud tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Srobud has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ground and pound from Srobud seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kirby is trying to control Srobud's posture but Srobud avoids it. Srobud tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kirby's legs. Srobud is breathing heavily. Srobud throwing shots but missing, from side control. Srobud grinds an elbow into Kirby's temple. Srobud in side control, throwing shots but Kirby defends. Kirby is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Srobud asserts his dominance and retains side control. Srobud working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Srobud working the ground and pound but Kirby is defending the strikes. Srobud misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Kirby struggling a bit here. Kirby is looking for a sweep. Kirby scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Avenlino Srobud has been cut. Kirby clobbers Srobud with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Good standup being displayed there by Kirby as he connects with a hook. A shot to the liver by Kirby. Beautiful body shot. Kirby fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Srobud on the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kirby lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kirby sends Srobud crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kirby is motioning to the referee to let Srobud up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Srobud is rocked! Kirby fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Srobud to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Srobud looks to clinch but Kirby throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Srobud taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
