Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chicharito Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Jackons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jackons's choice of entrance music: Dream On. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jorge Jackons was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chicharito Velasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorge Jackons! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackons throws out the jab. Jackons tries to clinch up enabling Velasquez to counter with a crisp jab. Jackons wants to clinch but Velasquez slips to the side and Velasquez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Velasquez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackons did well to prevent Velasquez getting side control. Velasquez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Velasquez works his foot free and advances to mount. Velasquez landing strikes from the mount. Velasquez goes for an armbar but Jackons turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jackons. Velasquez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackons can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Velasquez has Jackons pulled in close to control his posture. Jackons trying to control but Velasquez is working from the bottom. Velasquez looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Jackons wants to control from the top but Velasquez keeps moving. Velasquez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Jackons puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jackons wants to stand up but Velasquez has a hold of him and won't allow it. Jackons trying to control from half guard but Velasquez is working away. Velasquez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Velasquez is doing well to control the position and prevent Jackons from advancing to side control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jorge Jackons was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jackons tries to clinch but fails miserably and Velasquez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackons! Velasquez with shots to the head and body - Jackons looks very uncomfortable down there. Jackons takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Velasquez raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jackons?

Velasquez breaks from Jackons's wrist control and lands an elbow. The referee warns Jackons that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Velasquez lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jackons hang on? Velasquez landing strikes from the mount. Jackons looks gassed! Velasquez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackons is now in Velasquez's guard. A big mistake from Velasquez there, giving up the dominant position! Velasquez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jackons wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackons has hold of Velasquez's hands but Velasquez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Velasquez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Velasquez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackons's head. Velasquez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Velasquez wants to pass to mount but Jackons is defending the position. Velasquez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chicharito Velasquez dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jackons closes the distance looking to clinch and Velasquez counters with a single leg into guard. Jackons didn't expect that. Velasquez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackons works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Velasquez stands up and waves to Jackons to follow him. Velasquez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Velasquez is pushing down on Jackons's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackons is fighting to maintain full guard but Velasquez has managed to sneak the leg through. Velasquez missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Velasquez working the head and body with strikes. Jackons is breathing heavily. Velasquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Velasquez works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackons bucks up and tries to throw Velasquez off but instead Velasquez has got his back! Jackons is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Velasquez gets his way!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Velasquez.
Velasquez is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Velasquez looking for the choke from the back. Velasquez lands shots from the back. Velasquez connects with a big shot to the side of Jackons's head.

Velasquez is working an open guard so Jackons takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jackons tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Velasquez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackons! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Velasquez landing punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chicharito Velasquez dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Velasquez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Velasquez winds up and cracks Jackons with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Velasquez lands strikes from half guard. Velasquez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Velasquez working Jackons over with strikes. Velasquez throwing shots but Jackons is blocking nicely. Velasquez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jackons regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Velasquez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Velasquez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jackons is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jackons has escaped and now he's on top! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Velasquez is on top in guard.
Velasquez cracks Jackons with a solid left hand. Jackons is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Velasquez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez thows a big elbow that misses. Velasquez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackons manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Velasquez has Jackons in his guard. Jackons trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jorge Jackons has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Velasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jackons is fighting to break Velasquez's control of his arms but Velasquez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jackons is looking to stand up but Velasquez won't let him. Velasquez has Jackons pulled in close to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Velasquez trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Velasquez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackons! Velasquez dominating with strikes here. Jackons really wants to buck Velasquez off and get back to his feet. Velasquez lands a nice shot to the head. Jackons is in a horrible position here. Velasquez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Chicharito Velasquez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jackons takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Chicharito Velasquez showed his dominance in that final round. Well Velasquez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today.
