Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Pirate Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Le Fondre!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Fondre tries to score a power double leg takedown but Everett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Le Fondre somewhat.
Le Fondre shoots and misses
and Everett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Everett shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Le Fondre is trying to defend but Everett finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Le Fondre looks like he's trying to stand up.
Le Fondre is trying to maintain the position but Everett is very close to passing his half guard.

Le Fondre is looking for a sweep. Everett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Everett shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Le Fondre is trying to defend but Everett finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Le Fondre pushes Everett off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Everett closes the distance and clinches.

Le Fondre manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Le Fondre thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Everett postures up in Le Fondre's guard and throws a big left but Le Fondre blocks it.
Everett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Le Fondre throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Everett passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Everett laying and praying for a moment but Le Fondre takes advantage and regains half guard.
Everett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Le Fondre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Everett is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Le Fondre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Everett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Le Fondre on the ground.
Everett stalling away here and it's allowed Le Fondre to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Everett wants to stand but Le Fondre is controlling his posture from full guard.
Le Fondre throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Le Fondre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Everett trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Le Fondre manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Everett looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Le Fondre puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Le Fondre shoots in but Everett avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Le Fondre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Le Fondre wants it to stay on the feet.

so Everett counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Everett stands up and waves to Le Fondre to follow him.

Everett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Le Fondre sprawls well initially but Everett persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Le Fondre wants to control but Everett is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Le Fondre is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Everett looks to land a strike but Le Fondre avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Everett is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Adam Le Fondre hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Le Fondre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Le Fondre showed some decent athleticism there.

Le Fondre decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Le Fondre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Everett gets the takedown into side control.

Le Fondre manages to get back to half guard.
Everett looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Le Fondre is trying to control but Everett manages to pass to mount!

Le Fondre wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Le Fondre breaks Everett's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Le Fondre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Everett works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Le Fondre trying to control the position from guard on top but Everett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Everett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Le Fondre is one step ahead there.

Le Fondre is pushing down on Everett's leg trying to pass to half guard. Everett is fighting to maintain full guard but Le Fondre has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Le Fondre lands with a hook. Everett tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Le Fondre pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Everett blocks a head kick by Le Fondre.
Le Fondre is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Everett.

and Le Fondre counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Le Fondre tries to stall but Everett uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Everett drags the fight down to the ground.
Le Fondre postures up in Everett's guard and throws a big left but Everett blocks it.

Everett throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Le Fondre escapes and throws Everett's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Everett looks to move to half guard but instead Le Fondre has passed into mount! Damn!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Le Fondre scoring with strikes but Everett is staying in there.
Everett keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Le Fondre tries to control but Everett wriggling away.
Pirate Everett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Le Fondre looking to finish Everett with some ground and pound. This is bad for Everett!
Le Fondre avoids the attempt from Everett to control.
Le Fondre landing strikes from the mount and Everett is in trouble!
Le Fondre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Everett is looking to escape.

Everett is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Everett is trying to escape the mount.
Le Fondre wants to control the pace but Everett is squirming around nicely.
Everett is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Le Fondre is trying to control here but Everett has managed to regain half guard.
Everett tries to roll over but Le Fondre keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Adam Le Fondre.
Everett closes this distance looking for a takedown but Le Fondre circles away.
Le Fondre lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Le Fondre goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Everett swats away the attempt to clinch by Le Fondre.
Everett looks to land a combination. Le Fondre sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Adam Le Fondre.
Well Everett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
