Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smaash Destroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Smaash Destroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Bong!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Destroy closes the distance but Bong moves to the side
and Bong counters with a stiff right hand.
Destroy throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Destroy with a lazy takedown attempt
and Destroy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Destroy tries to clinch up
and Bong counters with a nice uppercut.
Bong closes the distance and clinches.
Bong missing with knees to the body.
Bong slows down the pace here.
Bong blocks a body shot from Destroy.
Destroy misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bong stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Destroy stalling in the clinch but Bong improves position.
Bong will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Destroy up against the cage.

Let's hope that Bong has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bong is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Destroy!

It looks like Bong might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

and Bong counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Bong cracks Destroy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Destroy throws an overhand right that lands on Bong's shoulder, as Bong tries to avoid the shot.
Bong scores with a crisp jab that stopped Destroy in his tracks.
Destroy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bong moves into the clinch successfully.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King Bong has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Destroy moves out of range of the strikes.
Bong throws a low kick but it's checked well by Destroy.

Destroy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smaash Destroy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bong cracks Destroy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
King Bong seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bong throws a right hand that Destroy ducks under and follows up with a left that Destroy also avoids with ease.
Destroy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bong slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Destroy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bong to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bong forces his way into half guard.
Bong is nestled in close to Destroy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bong scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Bong uses his free foot to push down on Destroy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Destroy.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Destroy throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Destroy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bong lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bong's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Bong has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Destroy's face.
King Bong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Destroy stuns Bong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Destroy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bong doesn't seem phased though.

Destroy connects with a single shot there.
Smaash Destroy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

King Bong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
