Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bear Trapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by disturbed - down with the sickness. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bear Trapp!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trapp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Trapp moves away.
A jab from Gracie misses.
Trapp uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gracie.
Gracie getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Trapp tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Trapp has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Trapp!

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Trapp controls from within his opponent's guard.
Trapp is looking to stand up but Gracie won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Trapp from controlling successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bear Trapp.
Trapp keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gracie feints and as Trapp raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trapp wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie trying to control but Trapp is working from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Trapp's legs.
Trapp is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Trapp tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nice strikes from Gracie there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trapp wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Trapp is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Trapp trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trapp defends it nicely.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trapp manages to avoid it.
Trapp wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie misses the jab.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Trapp sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gracie takes a swing at Trapp's ribcage but misses.

Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Trapp.
Gracie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Trapp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trapp to the mat! Trapp manages to get full guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Trapp keeps moving.
Trapp is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie throwing strikes from guard but Trapp blocks nicely.
Gracie advances position into side control!

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Trapp is avoiding damage well.
Trapp bucks up and tries to throw Gracie off but instead Gracie has got his back!

Gracie wants to control but Trapp is keeping busy.

Gracie looking to break Trapp's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Trapp remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Gracie will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Gracie is trying to control but Trapp is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Trapp turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Gracie takes a swing at Trapp's ribcage but misses.
Trapp wants to clinch.
Gracie misses with an uppercut. Trapp saw that one coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trapp moves out of range as Gracie strikes.
Chuck Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trapp avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Trapp slips under a jab from Gracie.

Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Trapp moves away.
Gracie throws a hook but Trapp avoids it easily.

Trapp rushes Gracie and presses him up against the cage.
Gracie wants to get back to striking at distance but Trapp won't allow it.
Gracie jumps guard but Trapp stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Trapp fails to land.

Gracie breaks the clinch.
Gracie misses with a wild combination.
Trapp is looking to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trapp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trapp tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.
Trapp tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie misses with a looping left.
Trapp tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie throws a right and a left that Trapp avoids nicely.
Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trapp moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Trapp rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Trapp won't allow it.
Gracie blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Trapp misses with some punches.
Trapp lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Trapp has Gracie pushed against the cage.
Trapp misses with a punch to the body.
Trapp pressing his opponent against the cage.

Gracie has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Trapp clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Trapp is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gracie gets his way!

Chuck Gracie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
