Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Kurosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, X Gonna Give It To Ya . Kurosawa has chosen War drums as his entrance music. Akira Kurosawa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Wood's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Akira Kurosawa!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Wood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Wood shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wood showed some decent athleticism there.
Kurosawa won't allow Wood to pass to mount.

Kurosawa is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Wood pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mark Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Kurosawa.

Kurosawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wood's waist but Wood gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurosawa off to one side.

Wood decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kurosawa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wood drops an elbow to the side of Kurosawa's head.
Wood seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kurosawa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Wood wants to get up but he can't break Kurosawa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wood is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kurosawa has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Wood is looking to defend but Kurosawa has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Wood! Kurosawa pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Wood taps out and this one is all over!
