Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vince Brasil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doblez Mundo! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brasil blocks a low kick nicely. Brasil shoots for a takedown but Mundo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brasil blocks a head kick by Mundo.
Mundo tries to score with a low kick but Brasil moves his leg out of the way. Mundo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mundo wants it to stay on the feet. A head kick misses from Mundo. Doblez Mundo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brasil shoots in looking for a takedown but Mundo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brasil's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Brasil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mundo throws a head kick but Brasil moves out of range.
Mundo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brasil scores a takedown into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mundo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mundo is desperately trying to improve his position but Brasil has a good base and remains in mount. Brasil pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Mundo is working to get back to half guard.
Brasil working Mundo over with strikes here. Mundo is squirming around, avoiding Brasil's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mundo is trying to escape the mount but Brasil keeps good control and instead manages to take Mundo's back.
Brasil is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Mundo taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Brasil.
