Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horatio Blower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre comes to the cage accompanied by Indestructable by Disturbed. Blower has chosen Strung Out - Match Book as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Pierre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Horatio Blower! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Blower, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pierre shoots for a double leg takedown but Blower sprawls well. He's pushed Pierre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pierre. Blower tries to close the distance and clinch but Pierre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pierre gets a takedown into half guard. Blower trying to control but Pierre postures up.
Blower looks like he's trying to stand up.
Blower is pressing down on Pierre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre stops Blower from standing up. Blower looking for a sweep. Not yet Blower, not yet. Blower uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Pierre closes the distance and clinches. Blower misses with an elbow strike.
Pierre has picked Blower up - he's going for a ride! Pierre dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Pierre keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Blower is trying to maintain the position but Pierre is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pierre slows the pace down in half guard. Blower wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierre content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blower makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blower. Pierre content to stall in guard here. Pierre is pushing down on Blower's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blower is fighting to maintain full guard but Pierre has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pierre passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blower! Pierre controlling from mount. Blower is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Blower slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Pierre drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blower is looking to get back to his feet here but Pierre is keeping cool and he's managed to take Blower's back. Blower showing good submission defense here.
Blower is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Pierre.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pierre doesn't have the hooks in and Blower manages to turn into his guard.
Pierre pulls Blower in close to his closed guard and prevents Blower from doing any damage or advancing position. Blower trying to control but Pierre is working from the bottom. Pierre could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre has a closed guard, preventing Blower from standing up. Pierre managing to control the position. Blower looking to sit in guard and control but Pierre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pierre looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Matt Pierre just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Blower closes the distance looking to clinch so Pierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pierre showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blower but Blower pushes him off and we're back to square one. Blower closes the distance looking to clinch and Pierre counters with a single leg into guard. Blower didn't expect that. Blower wants to stand up but Pierre is controlling him. Blower looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blower keeping full guard, as Pierre tries to pass. Blower tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blower takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pierre slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Pierre wants to pass the guard but Blower is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Blower changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierre tries to avoid it but Blower manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierre to the ground. Pierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pierre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pierre has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pierre scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Blower is looking to get back to is feet but Pierre passes into side control.
Pierre has knee on belly momentarily but Blower bucks him off and regains half guard. Blower wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre decides to return to a standing position. Pierre shoots for a takedown but Blower saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pierre doesn't manage to clinch there - Blower circles away.
Pierre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pierre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Horatio Blower has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pierre wants to take a breather but Blower is having none of it. Pierre moves into full mount! Blower won't be happy about that! Pierre controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierre avoids the attempt from Blower to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Pierre showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pierre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
