PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rivilinho Rivaldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timi Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendrix comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Are You Experienced- The Jimi Hendrix Experience kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Timi Hendrix acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rivilinho Rivaldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Timi Hendrix!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivaldo looks to score with a jab to the body but Hendrix is just out of range.
Hendrix throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rivaldo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hendrix swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rivaldo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hendrix avoids the body shot from Rivaldo.

and Rivaldo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rivaldo cracks Hendrix with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hendrix wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Hendrix is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rivaldo is just riding it out for now. Hendrix eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hendrix throws a series of punches but Rivaldo moves out of range.

Hendrix dives in and grabs Rivaldo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivaldo pushes down on Hendrix's head and hops out.

Rivaldo's corner calls for a 1-2. Rivaldo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hendrix closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hendrix postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hendrix misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hendrix is working Rivaldo over with some ground and pound from side control.
Rivaldo is not content to let Hendrix control the position.
Hendrix tries to score with some ground and pound. Rivaldo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rivaldo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rivaldo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hendrix couldn't care less - he's delighted!
