Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Funke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Ruff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funke comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed - Glass Shatters. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruff fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ruff scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Tobias Funke has been cut.
Ruff misses with the combination.
Ruff is looking to clinch but Funke is avoiding it.
Ruff throws a right and a left that Funke avoids nicely.
Funke does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ruff pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Funke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ruff.
Ruff tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Funke paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mickey Ruff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruff swats away the attempt to clinch by Funke.

and Funke counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ruff wants to stand up but Funke is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Funke counters with a good low kick that Ruff was not able to check.
Funke looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruff wants to get back to his feet.
Funke is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Ruff has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ruff is trying to stand up here but Funke is controlling him well.

Funke is pressing down on Ruff's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ruff is holding on for now.

Funke can't find room to land a body shot as Ruff controls the action.
Ruff wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ruff wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Funke has him pressed against the cage.
Ruff has had enough of the clinch but Funke keeps him there for the moment.
Ruff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruff gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ruff wants to stand and escape but Funke is having none of it.
Funke slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Funke wants to control from the top but Ruff keeps moving.
Funke stands up and waves to Ruff to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mickey Ruff will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ruff lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ruff.
Ruff misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ruff thuds his right hand into Funke's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Funke circles away from the clinch attempt
and Funke counters by moving into the clinch.
Ruff breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ruff closes the distance but Funke moves to the side
and Funke decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ruff's guard.
Funke throws a big right hand that misses.
Funke prevents Ruff from getting back to his feet.
Ruff is breathing heavily.
Funke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ruff, up you get!

Funke blocks a head kick by Ruff.
Funke fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruff sprawls well initially but Funke persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Funke is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ruff wants to get back to his feet.
Ruff makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Ruff misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ruff stalks Funke and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Funke's face. Funke staggers backwards, shaken.
Ruff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Funke looks for a takedown but Ruff sprawls well.
Funke closes the distance and clinches up with Ruff, looking for a takedown. Funke pushes Ruff against the cage but Ruff circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ruff has had enough of the clinch but Funke keeps him there for the moment.

Mickey Ruff seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Ruff has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Funke is persistently looking for the submission but Ruff is defending it well.
