2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kyle Woolard! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karkkola slips a jab and a cross from Woolard.
Karkkola misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

so Woolard counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Woolard passes Karkkola's left leg - he's now in half guard. Woolard decides to stand and escape the position. Woolard scores with a takedown into Karkkola's guard. Woolard is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Woolard pushing down on Karkkola's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Karkkola on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Karkkola tries to get out of the position. OK we're going to have a standup here. Kyle Woolard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Karkkola throws a series of punches but Woolard moves out of range. Karkkola throws a left and a right that both miss
and Woolard counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Woolard. Woolard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woolard tries to free his leg and advance position but Karkkola is retaining full guard.

Woolard moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Woolard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Woolard just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Woolard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Karkkola taking punishment in the form of punches.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Woolard is staying tight to Karkkola's torso, preventing him from escaping. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Woolard stands up and we're back to a striking position. Woolard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Karkkola's guard. Woolard in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Woolard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Karkkola is in trouble now - Woolard has advanced to mount! Poor strikes thrown by Woolard there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Seppo Karkkola is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Woolard lands an overhand right. Karkkola throws a left and a right that both miss
and Woolard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Woolard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

He catches Karkkola napping and manages to drive through into side control! Woolard is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Karkkola wants to get back to his feet.

Karkkola avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Woolard. Woolard controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kyle Woolard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Woolard might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. And that's the end of the fight! Kyle Woolard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Woolard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
