Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damien Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Chase! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Chase misses. Chase is looking to slow Cross down with leg kicks. A solid leg kick lands there for Chase.
Chase throws a head kick but Cross moves out of range.
Cross doesn't manage to clinch there - Chase circles away.
Cross circles away from the clinch attempt and Cross counters with a series of strikes. Chase will be more careful next time no doubt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chase connects with a leg kick. Cross looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Chase misses with a double jab
and Cross counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chase! Cross is breathing heavily. Chase somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Chase lands a head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross fails in his attempt to clinch. Chase throws a right and a left that both miss. Chase throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cross counters with a nice double leg into guard. Chase is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cross is controlling him. Cross has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chase pushes Cross off and gets back to his feet.
Chase tries to clinch and Cross counters by moving into the clinch. Cross jumps into guard, dragging Chase to the mat.
Cross on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cross tries to get out of the position. Cross looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chase is one step ahead there. Cross is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chase would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cross trying to strike off his back.
Chase has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cross is proving hard to escape from. Cross is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Chase trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cross's guard. Chase postures up.
Cross working for a triangle but Chase defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chase stands up from guard. Let's bang! Chase tries to clinch but Cross moves away and Cross decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chase's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cross stops Chase from standing up. Chase keeping moving, preventing Cross from controlling successfully. Chase is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cross is controlling him. Cross looking to pass the guard. Cross stops Chase from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Chase is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Chase has a closed guard, preventing Cross from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cross wants to control from the top but Chase keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Damien Cross wasn't doing enough on the ground. Chase throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cross counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chase! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chase tries to buck Cross off but he can't manage it. Chase is squirming around, avoiding Cross's attempts to control the action. Cross is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chase is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chase tries to buck Cross off but he can't manage it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damien Cross dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Chase waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cross. Chase throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cross. Cross showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chase.
Chase throws a right and a left that Cross avoids nicely. Chase pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chase misses with a combination
and Cross counters with a straight that turns Chase's legs to rubber! Cross pushes forward with more strikes and Chase goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Damien Cross!
