Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Wall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Pederson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pederson has chosen Avenged Sevenfold - Natural Born Killer as his entrance music. Nick Pederson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Wall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Pederson! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pederson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pederson showed some decent athleticism there. Pederson wants to pass the guard but Wall is defending well. Pederson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wall regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Pederson. Pederson scoring with some ground and pound. Wall keeping full guard, as Pederson tries to pass. Wall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wall doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pederson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pederson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Pederson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pederson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pederson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wall keeping full guard, as Pederson tries to pass. Pederson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pederson postures up in Wall's guard and throws a big left but Wall blocks it. Pederson looking to pass the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pederson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wall trying to keep a closed guard but Pederson is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wall has his foot on Pederson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pederson works his way back into a safe position though. Wall is breathing heavily. Pederson distracts Wall with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pederson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pederson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pederson is trying to work for a kimura but Wall is defending well.

Pederson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pederson uses his free foot to push down on Wall's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Wall. Pederson lands a big shot there that rocks Wall but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Pederson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pederson passes the guard and advances to mount! Pederson with good strikes from the mount here! Wall tries to hold on but Pederson pushes him away. Wall is wriggling around trying to escape.
Nick Pederson has got the better of the ground game so far. Pederson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wall's face.

That's one minute gone in the round. The referee warns Wall that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Nick Pederson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Wall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Wall pushes Pederson up against the cage in a clinch. Pederson looking for a takedown. Wall tries to stall but Pederson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wall gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pederson.
Wall tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pederson avoids it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pederson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wall pushes Pederson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pederson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Wall regains half guard, as Pederson was trying to land strikes. Pederson wants to pass the guard but Wall is defending well. Wall trying to control but Pederson postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wall trying to control from the bottom.
Pederson throws a strike but Wall avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Pederson postures up in Wall's guard and throws a big left but Wall blocks it. Pederson looking to pass the guard. Pederson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pederson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wall's head. Pederson throws a strike but Wall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Wall trying to control the position from guard on top but Pederson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pederson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wall passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Wall slows the pace down in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Nick Pederson. I've got Pederson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
