The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penniman moves out of range of the strikes.
Ribeiro gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ribeiro tries to clinch but Penniman is having none of it.
Penniman connects with a looping right hand.
Penniman throws a series of punches but Ribeiro moves out of range.
A jab from Penniman finds it's way through Ribeiro's defenses.

and Ribeiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penniman's guard.
Ribeiro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Penniman's guard.

Ribeiro has control of Penniman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Penniman regains control of the situation pretty easily.
